Frequently Asked Questions

Are your artworks signed and dated?

I sign, date and title most of my pieces on the back. If you wish to have the artwork signed on the front, please let me know.

Is your artwork sprayed with a protective coating?

Yes. I spray most of my artworks with a UV coating finishing spray to seal it. However certain pieces cannot be sprayed.

Do your artworks come framed or matted?

No, not unless I’ve specified. Framing and or matting is up to the customer.

My Canvas artworks can be hung directly on the wall as I use 1.5” profile canvases. This gives them a bit of “weight” and depth, so they look good as is on the wall. But you are more than welcome to have it framed if you wish.

My Collages are never framed unless specified. Some of my collages require a shadow box style frames as some have raised texture and found objects adhered to them, so they will not sandwich directly behind glass.

My Alcohol Inks are never framed unless specified. They are quite delicate, so I strongly recommend framing these pieces.

Shipping within Canada is free (except for very rural addresses where shipping prices can be much higher. In that case, I will contact you with the shipping quote). Please email me for International shipping quotes.

How is my artwork packaged for shipping?

Depending on what type and size of artwork you purchased, it will either be bubble wrapped and boxed, packed in an envelope or a bubble mailer, or in an appropriate size box with packing materials.

I try to use recycled boxes and packing material whenever possible for all of my shipping. I strongly believe in reusing whatever I can. I also appreciate it if you can keep it going by also reusing the packing box and material I sent your piece in. Lets face it...It’s what's inside that counts.

I require a deposit of 50% and then the remainder upon completion + the cost of shipping.

Yes. If you have a specific size that is not readily available from my supplier, I will get you a quote for a custom made canvas. This will increase the price, as well as the timeline.

Will I receive “sneak a peeks” or progress photos as you create my commission piece?

I usually send photos 2-3 times during the process. It is then you can let me know what you think and I can make any changes if necessary.

What if I don't like my finished commissioned piece?

My philosophy is “you gotta love it”, so in the event you’re not connecting with the piece I created especially for you, you have three options:

  1. I can start over and create a brand new piece for you. You just need to ship back the first piece (you are responsible for shipping cost)
  2. You can return the piece and I will give your deposit back (less 10%) for supplies. For example, if you paid a $500 deposit, I would give you back $450. (you are responsible for shipping cost)
  3. You can return the piece and I will give you a credit to spend the deposit total on any of my available items on my website.

If you’re not “In Love” with the piece I created for you, it’s totally okay. Art is very personal, so I would never be offended.

Do you ever have sales?

Yes, I usually have at least one or two sales per year to clear out my studio.

Do your artworks come framed?

No, not unless I’ve specified. Framing is up to the customer.

My Paintings are never framed unless specified.

My Collages are never framed unless specified. Some of my collages require a shadow box style frames as some have raised texture and found objects adhered to them, so they will not sandwich directly behind glass.

My Alcohol Inks are never framed unless specified. They are quite delicate, so I strongly recommend framing these pieces

Do your artworks come ready to hang?

My Canvas artworks can be hung directly on the wall as I use 1.5” profile canvases. This gives them a bit of “weight” and depth, so they look good as is on the wall. But you are more than welcome to have it framed if you wish.

My Collage pieces are not ready to hang. Most of them require a frame, although some collage pieces are rigid enough to be leaned up on a shelf, but framing is strongly recommended to protect from UV, moisture and dust.

My Alcohol Inks are not ready to hang. My alcohol ink pieces are created on yupo paper, so it does not have enough weight to stand alone. I strongly recommend framing.
